Roar! It's the Indominous Rex from Jurassic World! These photos were taken right after I finished this cake. Jonathan is now 8 and this is what he wanted. It's my Oreo cookie cake filled with vanilla cream cheese butter cream and decorated with vanilla fondant. Yes! You can eat EVERYTHING... if it doesn't eat you first!
It's a bird! It's a plane! No it's Super Minions! After years of super hero cakes, I was ready to change up Henry's birthday a bit. His new love of minions provided the perfect creative excuse! These cakes are all 7 inches around and 1 1/2 feet tall! Meet Iron Minion, Spideyminion, Batminion, and Captain Ameriminion! These were a huge hit for the children and adults!
I do! I do! This homemade vanilla pound cake and pumpkin cake are filled and iced with my incredible vanilla buttercream cream cheese frosting. This gorgeous October wedding cake is decorated with ivory and champagne vanilla fondant, sugar lace and gum paste flower.

Zebra Cake and Zebra Cup Cakes

This Zebra Cake and Cup Cakes were made for a teacher who loves animal prints and the color red. The cake was a low sugar strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. You would never know. One of the most delicious strawberry cakes I have eaten.

Gronckle Cup Cakes

These little guys were a bit of an after thought. I frosted them gronckle green and had fully intended to make paper cup cake sticks with the characters. In the end, I just turned the frosted cup cakes into Gronckles for our family birthday celebration before the party the next day (see the How to Train Your Dragon Cake post.)
Below are baby Gronckles I made for Jonathan's class celebration. The wings and teeth are made from leftover gum paste teeth from the big cake. Jonathan and the kiddos loved them!

Football Cake

This football cake is made with vanilla pound cake and chocolate cake. The chocolate fondant football was extra yummy since I used cocoa powder instead of food coloring to get the dark brown color.

How to Train Your Dragon Cake

My son, Jonathan, turned 5 last week and has been talking about a How to Train Your Dragon Party since July! He wanted a Gronckle Cake with wings. This dragon cake is made with vanilla pound cake and frosted with butter cream and decorated with homemade fondant, gum paste wings and jelly bean rocks for garnish (since Gronckles eat rocks:) I also have to brag on my husband, Curt, who made the village of Berk from refridgerator boxes and then painted them for an authentic Viking village look!

My good friend, Sarah, started Scribbles Linens and provided some awesome table coverings and runners that can be scribbled on with chalk to direct guest! Loved them! Check her out on Facebook.

My little Viking, Jonathan! Happy Birthday!
